In June 2012, I will be taking part in a solo, non-stop, unassisted race to Hawaii aboard my Wilderness 30 named Domino. The Singlehanded Transpac has been described by some as a "A bug light for weirdos". Follow me and my fellow “bug light weirdos” as we prepare our boats and ourselves for the downwind run to Hawaii.

Call from Adam at 3pm HST 7/8/10
July 9th, 2010Hi there…260 miles DTF. Have twins and main flying and I’ve wrapped myself in a spinnaker for good measure. I still have to figure out how to fly my drifter at the same time as the other sails. There was a fishing trawler that appeared out of nowhere last night. I had gone down to sleep and came up to scan the horizon and there it was. I didn’t hail it as it was far enough away, but I can’t help but feel like I’m the only one seeing all the traffic in this part of the Pacific. I’m thinking I will be there sometime Saturday, but if it gets late I’ll wait until the following morning like everyone else. Think wind! ~ Adam
