About

In June 2012, I will be taking part in a solo, non-stop, unassisted race to Hawaii aboard my Wilderness 30 named Domino. The Singlehanded Transpac has been described by some as a "A bug light for weirdos". Follow me and my fellow “bug light weirdos” as we prepare our boats and ourselves for the downwind run to Hawaii.

Hello. My name is Adam Correa and I just recently completed the 2010 Singlehanded Transpac to Hawaii aboard my International Folkboat named Blue Moon. Four years ago this past summer I discovered sailing. Although the Ocean has been a part of my life for quite some time…chasing swells up and down the California & Mexico coasts in search of surf…I hadn’t quite experienced the Ocean the way one does OFFSHORE and ALONE. Two years ago I became a member of the Singlehanded Sailing Society here in the San Francisco Bay Area and started to consistently race. The Singlehanded Sailing Society is a unique group of world class sailors that provides an amazing network of support, competition, and a contagious Corinthian “Do it yourself” Ethos. A year and a half ago I sailed out under the Golden Gate Bridge with the SSS Singlehanded Transpac fleet of 2008 to send off my friends who were headed for Hawaii. It was inspiring to follow the race from start to finish and I decided that 2010 would be my year to give it a shot.

So with the SHTP 2010 in the books and having sold Blue Moon in Hawaii; I am back in the Bay Area living aboard a Wilderness 30 named “Domino” and working toward the SHTP 2012. Thanks for checking out my Blog and I will do my best to keep things updated along the way. Go sailing!
