Hello. My name is Adam Correa and in 2010 I completed the Singlehanded Transpac to Hawaii aboard my International Folkboat named Blue Moon. Five years ago I discovered sailing. Although the Ocean has been a part of my life for quite some time…chasing swells up and down the California & Mexico coasts in search of surf…I hadn’t quite experienced the Ocean the way one does OFFSHORE and ALONE. Every time I set out to sea, whether I am embracing a dear friend on a departure dock or waving farewell to a complete stranger; there is a moment. A moment of recognition; a subtle human acknowledgement of what lies ahead, a collective affirmation of life’s fragility and the infectious wonder of the unknown. Within this spectrum of human emotion and awareness, I have experienced all that is good, all that is true, and most importantly all that matters within my own “endless numbered days”. Miniscule we are in the presence of unencumbered horizon lines; we cling to what we have harbored our entire lives; memories and associations that provide company, instill confidence, and remind us that we are not alone. A lonely sailboat drifting on a sky laden sea, bound for a destination just beyond the imaginary edges of the oceans canvas; never the same and endless in form, the days and nights become pages in a book you started the day you left. Join me as I continue to explore this beautifully drifting world of stillness and fury we call the Sea. Thanks for checking out my Blog and I will do my best to keep things updated along the way. Go sailing!
